Linda Nosková reached the Wimbledon finals against Karolína Muchová while memories of her mother, Ivana Noskova, hovered over the run. Nosková is 21, and the match has pulled her family story back into view at the biggest stage in tennis.

She also missed Wimbledon in 2024 for health reasons, even though she called it her favorite and said she was looking forward to the grass and the strawberries with whipped cream.
The family’s role in Nosková’s rise has been visible before. In 2022, Drahos accepted an award on her behalf after she was named the most successful athlete in the city of Přerov. He said he and Ivana never expected her to reach the top 100 so quickly and called it a shock that Linda from the Czech Republic and from a village had made this breakthrough. Earlier, Nosková said she had six, seven, eight hobbies and that tennis was never the only thing on her mind, with gymnastics, horse riding and other sports filling her days.
That is the friction inside this Wimbledon run. The success is real, and so is the loss behind it. Ivana watched from home, stayed in touch and kept her fingers crossed when travel was too hard; now the family is left with a final that she had once hoped to see in person. What remains unanswered is not whether Nosková can compete at this level. It is how she carries the next stage of her career without the mother who helped start it all.
