The Milwaukee Bucks are moving all preseason and regular-season games next season to over-the-air television on MY24, a sharp break from the regional sports network model that has carried their games in recent years. The new arrangement will reach Milwaukee on MY24 and extend through statewide affiliates, with the first broadcasts set to start with the 2026 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Josh Glessing said the change marks a return to full-season over-the-air television for the Bucks for the first time in more than three decades. He said the team was returning to its roots, and that Rincon Broadcasting Group helped make the move possible. The Bucks are also planning pregame, in-game and postgame coverage for locally available games through MY24, giving the shift more than just a new channel number.
The move follows the closure of Main Street Sports, which oversaw the FanDuel Sports Wisconsin network. That shutdown forced teams tied to the network to reset their television plans, and the Bucks are using the moment to widen access instead of narrowing it. For fans in Wisconsin, the appeal is simple: games that once lived behind a paywall will now be easier to find on local television.
But the full picture is not finished. The Bucks said most major cable systems will carry games and that streaming on YouTube TV will be available, yet the statewide affiliate network will come later and the direct-to-consumer streaming service is still being developed. That leaves the team with a clear public promise and a few key pieces still to fill in before the 2026-27 season begins.
The immediate test comes this weekend. The Bucks open the 2026 NBA Summer League on Sunday, July 12, against the San Antonio Spurs at 8 p.m. CT, then face the Phoenix Suns on Monday, July 13, at 9 p.m. CT and the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. CT. For MY24, those games will be the first step in a return that recalls when it first served as the Bucks’ over-the-air home from 1988 to 1994.
