Olivia Miles will miss Monday’s Sun Vs Lynx game because of a right calf injury, ending the rookie’s run of appearances in her first WNBA season. It is the first game she has missed this year.
The absence matters because Miles has been one of the league’s most productive young guards, averaging 18.5 points, 5.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 30.5 minutes per game through 20 games. She has helped the Lynx to a 15-5 record and the top spot in the standings, and last week she was named a starter for the 2026 All-Star Game in Chicago, the only rookie to earn that honor this season.
The injury surfaced after Friday’s loss to the New York Liberty, when Cheryl Reeve said Miles told reporters she felt cramping during the game. She played only 26 minutes that night, then was listed as questionable on Sunday evening before being ruled out for Monday. That sequence suggests the issue was not dismissed as a minor postgame complaint, but the team has not said how long she may be sidelined.
Miles’ absence also lands in the middle of a larger injury picture for the Lynx. Dorka Juhasz is probable to make her season debut Monday as she returns from a right foot injury, while Napheesa Collier remains out as she works back from offseason ankle surgeries. For Minnesota, the short-term question is not whether Miles has changed the ceiling of this team. It is how long the No. 2 pick can stay off the floor before the league’s top team has to adjust without her.
