Palantir Technologies stock has fallen just over 37% from its Nov. 3 52-week high, but Wall Street still sees room for a recovery. The median 12-month price target sits at $200, implying about 55% upside from current levels even after the recent pullback in the PLTR stock price.
That disconnect is why investors are watching the name now. Thirty-four analysts cover the stock, and the group remains mostly constructive: 21 rate Palantir a buy, 11 call it a hold and two recommend selling. The Street-high target is $255, a level that would put the shares about 91% above current levels if reached.
The gap between the market and the estimates is striking because Palantir has not been standing still. The company introduced its Artificial Intelligence Platform in April 2023, and that product has been a key part of its growth story. In Q1 this year, earnings per share rose 154% year over year, customer count increased 31%, total contract value reached $2.41 billion and remaining deal value climbed to $11.8 billion, almost double the prior-year period.
Even so, the stock has been under pressure because investors are paying close attention to valuation, and some worry that Anthropic's offerings could slow Palantir's pace. That skepticism has not changed the basic analyst view, but it has created a real test for the shares: Palantir has to keep delivering the kind of growth that justifies the multiple now embedded in the stock.
That is the heart of the next 12 months. To reach the median target, Palantir would need to preserve most of its recent momentum, because the 55% implied gain from here depends on the market continuing to believe the growth story is intact. If it does, the stock still has meaningful upside; if it does not, the recent drop may prove to be the market re-rating investors feared rather than a temporary reset.
