That leaves little room for a player like Ringo to win a roster spot by reputation alone. He will have to prove he can be more than a special teams piece if he wants to survive to the end of August, when the 53-man roster is formed.
Robinson faces a different kind of pressure, but the same deadline. He did not have a good rookie season, and the Eagles are loaded at defensive tackle, which turns camp into a patience test as much as a competition. That is what training camp does to this roster every year: it turns useful depth into a fight for survival and pushes clean projections into hard choices. For Ringo, the next step is simple and unforgiving. Report on July 28, play well enough to matter, and give the Eagles a reason to keep carrying him when the cuts arrive.
For a team that has spent the offseason tightening its defensive backfield, Ringo may be running out of places to hide. The Eagles can still value his special teams work, but the roster math is already working against him, and by late August that math will decide whether he is still here.
