The Denver Nuggets have agreed to a one-year deal with Marvin Bagley III, adding a veteran frontcourt option as the roster takes shape. Shams Charania reported the move, but the financial terms were not revealed.
Bagley, 26, split last season between the Washington Wizards and the Dallas Mavericks, giving Denver a player who has already logged time in different roles and systems. He appeared in 38 games for Washington to start the 2025-2026 NBA season, averaging 19.2 minutes, 10.1 points and 5.7 rebounds before the Washington Wizards moved him to Dallas at the 2026 trade deadline.
He then played 22 games for the Mavericks, making four starts and averaging 21.4 minutes per game while posting 11.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists. For a Nuggets team looking for depth, that kind of production across 60 combined games is the kind of resume that matters more than reputation.
Bagley entered the NBA after coming out of Duke in 2018 and was selected second overall by the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 13.5 points and 7.4 rebounds there before being traded to the Detroit Pistons in February 2022, where he spent three seasons and later moved on to the Washington Wizards and the Memphis Grizzlies.
What Denver is getting is not a mystery. What remains unclear is the price tag and the guarantee structure behind the deal, details that were still left out even after the agreement was in place.
