Kay Adams went to her first NASCAR race over the weekend in San Diego, and the photo that followed drew a sharper response than the race itself. After motorsports reporter Cole Cusumano posted a picture of her on social media, Adams fired back: “Posting feet should be punishable by fire-squad.”
The reaction landed quickly because Adams, 40, has already spent years joking publicly about feet and the attention that comes with them. In 2022, she told Interview Magazine, “It’s fine to be into feet,” adding, “There’s people that you and I both know that are really into feet.” She also joked, “I mean, if ‘Up & Adams’ doesn’t work out, I might become a foot model,” before adding, “People make bank.”
That history matters because Adams has also said the interest is not just a joke to her. In 2023, she told Paige Spiranac, “I have this thing where I get a lot of dudes that want me to send them photos of my feet.” So when the race photo appeared, the issue was not just that she was in frame. Part of one of her feet was visible in Cusumano’s picture, turning a routine post into exactly the kind of attention she has said she tries to avoid.
The unresolved part is what happened to the image after Adams objected. It is not clear whether it was deleted, edited, or left up, but the exchange made one thing plain: after a first trip to NASCAR’s Anduril 250, Adams was less interested in the race highlight than in keeping her feet out of the frame.
