Is League Down? Thousands report League of Legends issues Tuesday

League of Legends was reported down for thousands of users on Tuesday, with more than 3,000 reports of issues logged by 5:25 p.m. PT. Most of those users said they could not launch the game, turning a routine login into a wider disruption for players trying to get in.

The report count kept climbing, with nearly 10,000 users now saying they had trouble with League of Legends. That made the outage search itself part of the story: people were checking whether the game was down while the numbers kept rising.

Downdetector.com, which tracks outages from a number of sources, was showing the spike even as Riot Games' status checker did not indicate an issue at that time. That split matters because it leaves open a basic question readers want answered first: whether the problem was a broad service failure, a narrower access issue, or something that had not yet reached the status page.

The same checker says League of Legends has a scheduled patch for 1:30 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, giving players a clear marker for when the next official change is expected. Until then, the unanswered part is not how many people noticed the problem — it is why so many saw the same launch failure while the status page stayed quiet.
