Restaurants and delivery services are pushing Father’s Day Food Deals into the final stretch before Sunday’s holiday, with discounts, free combos and buy-one-get-one offers timed for June 21. The promotions are built for shoppers who are still looking for an easy way to mark the day without paying full price.

Mike Snider highlighted the slate of offers as Father’s Day spending is expected to reach $27.9 billion this year, up about 16% from a year ago. That kind of spending would set a record even as consumer sentiment continues to dip, which is why the deals are landing at exactly the right moment for families trying to keep the celebration simple and affordable.

The list runs from app-only offers to loyalty perks. Bojangles is giving customers a free Breakfast Combo when they buy one through Monday, June 22, with the deal available online and in the Bojangles app at participating locations using promo code FATHERSBOGO. Bojangles is also offering a free Bo’s Chicken Sandwich to customers who download the app. DashPass subscribers can choose from several buy one, get one free deals through Sunday, June 21, while 7NOW Delivery app customers can save $10 on orders of $20 or more with promo code FORDAD.

Jimmy John’s is offering JJ Rewards members a buy one, get one free Toasted Sandwich deal through Sunday, June 21, with the promotion available online and in the Jimmy John’s app using promo code FAVECHILD. Crumbl has a Father’s Day Bundl available through Saturday, June 20, in Large and Mini sizes and in 6-packs or 12-packs, with flavor options that include the Everything But The Dad Jokes Cookie, made with M&M's, peanut butter chips and peanut butter-coated potato chips and drizzled with milk chocolate.

The timing matters because the holiday is built around a spending habit that is still holding up. The National Retail Federation said 55% of Father’s Day celebrators plan to treat Dad to a special outing, and the average person is expected to spend $227 on gifts and activities. That leaves little room for hesitation, especially with some offers expiring before the holiday weekend ends and others requiring a promo code, a membership or an app download.

The sharper question now is not whether retailers will keep leaning on Father’s Day, but how many shoppers will act before the deadlines pass. With some deals ending on Saturday and others on Sunday or Monday, the window is narrow, and the people hunting for a last-minute meal are the ones most likely to decide whether the promotions turn into real traffic.

Father’s Day itself became official in 1972, when President Richard Nixon made the third Sunday in June a holiday, according to History.com. President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day a national holiday in 1914, and the two dates now frame a mid-June rush that restaurants know how to sell.

Mike Snider’s list shows that the playbook is simple this year: use the holiday, attach a code, and give shoppers a reason to order before the clock runs out.
