Raleigh has released the parade-day plan for the 2026 Stanley Cup Championship Parade, setting the event for Downtown Raleigh on Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The guidance lays out where visitors can park, how they can get downtown and which streets will be off limits when the celebration begins.
The timing is driving the search for details now. The parade is hosted by the NHL and Carolina Hurricanes, and the city is preparing for large crowds by steering people toward GoRaleigh, parking decks and designated pickup areas. Riders can use a GoRaleigh Day Pass for $2.50, pay on the bus with cash or use the UMO app, and text CANESPARADE to 888777 for real-time updates on traffic, weather and safety.
Five decks marked on the map will offer free parking for the celebration, while the Performing Arts Center and Convention Center Decks will cost $10. Some street parking is available on South Street and Wilmington Street for visitors with disability placards or license plates. The city is also pointing people to transit connections: riders can take the 700 from Durham Station to the Regional Transit Center and transfer to the 100, or take the 800 from Chapel HIll to the Regional Transit Center and transfer to the 100.
That traffic plan comes with a hard restriction. Bikes and scooters are not allowed in the no-ride zone around the parade route between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., even as the city directs crowds downtown for a one-day event built around the Hurricanes’ championship celebration. Visitors using rideshare should use W Lane St between N Dawson St and N Harrington St for pickup and drop-off, a sign that the downtown core is being managed as both a celebration zone and a congestion zone.
The result is a parade day that looks simple on the calendar and complicated on the street. The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., but the travel rules will shape the rest of the day for anyone heading into Raleigh.
