Tiffany Stratton has been added to the WWE Night of Champions poster, and the move points to a changing card ahead of the June 27 PLE in Saudi Arabia. Stratton is now featured alongside Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and United States Champion Trick Williams.
False Finish reports that Stratton versus Jade Cargill for the Women’s United States Championship is currently planned for that show, which would give WWE another title defense to sort out before the event starts at 1 p.m. Eastern. The poster originally included Rhea Ripley, but WWE swapped her out for Stratton after Ripley was ruled out with a knee injury.
The timing matters because Stratton and Cargill have already been circling each other on SmackDown. Last week, Cargill, Michin and B-Fab laid out Stratton in a three-on-one beatdown after Michin and B-Fab defeated Chelsea Green and Stratton in a tag match, and Green has been trying to help Stratton even the odds against Cargill and The Baddies. That run of angles has made Stratton’s place on the Night of Champions poster look less like decoration and more like a sign of where the story is heading.
Even so, the poster change is not the same thing as an official match announcement. WWE has not formally confirmed Stratton against Cargill, and the card still appears to be taking shape as the company finalizes Night of Champions. If Stratton and Cody Rhodes both end up defending their titles, the show would reach a six-match card, which would make the June 27 lineup tighter and more title-heavy than it first appeared.
Tonight on SmackDown, Rhodes is set to put the Undisputed WWE title on the line against Gunther with Sami Zayn as the special guest referee, another sign that WWE is using the days before Night of Champions to lock in major championship angles. Stratton’s new poster placement suggests she is already in the frame; the only question left is whether WWE says it outright before Saudi Arabia.
