The Premier League has released the full 2026/27 fixture list, and the season will begin on Friday 21 August 2026 with Arsenal hosting Coventry City. The schedule runs to 380 matches, with the opening round immediately setting the pace for the campaign.

That matters now because clubs and supporters can finally plan around the shape of the season, from the first weekend through to the autumn run of headline fixtures. Weekend and Bank Holiday matches will kick off at 15:00 UK time unless otherwise stated, while midweek matches are set for 20:00 unless otherwise stated.

The opening weekend is already set around a cluster of high-profile games. Hull City host Manchester United at 12:30 on Saturday 22 August, Brentford meet Tottenham Hotspur at 17:30 that day, Newcastle United face Liverpool on Sunday 23 August at 16:30, and Fulham play Chelsea on Monday 24 August at 20:00. Later in the early season, Arsenal meet Chelsea and Manchester City face Coventry City on Saturday 5 September, before Manchester United play Manchester City on Saturday 12 September and AFC Bournemouth host Liverpool on Saturday 19 September.

There is, though, a familiar catch. The Premier League has published the full calendar, but all fixtures are still subject to change, which means the printed schedule is not the final word for every match. Several games are also marked for Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so the fixtures most likely to shift are the ones tied to television selection, especially the high-profile meetings that broadcasters and clubs want to place into larger audience slots.

The rest of the autumn keeps that pattern going, with Liverpool against Manchester City on Saturday 10 October, Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 24 October, and Liverpool against Arsenal on Saturday 31 October. For now, the most immediate answer is simple: the new Premier League season starts on Friday 21 August, and Arsenal v Coventry City is the first match on the board.
