In an Esquire cover interview for the July/August issue, he was asked about the speculation and answered: “No, because they were all there.” He added, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
The comments matter because this is the first time Holland has spoken publicly about the talk that has followed Tom Holland and Zendaya for months. The couple have kept their relationship tightly guarded, even as fans and gossip accounts picked over every small clue, including Zendaya flashing a diamond ring at the Golden Globes in January 2025. The issue reaches shelves on 17 June, which gives the remarks immediate fuel for anyone still trying to figure out whether the rumored ceremony happened privately or only exists in the imagination of the internet.
Before Holland spoke, the rumor had already been pushed along by others. Law Roach told Access Hollywood in March, “The wedding has already happened. You missed it.” Online, AI-generated wedding photos spread widely and reportedly collected over 10 millions likes, turning a private relationship into a public guessing game. Holland did not offer a direct confirmation, but his answer about family being present left little room for readers to think he was shutting the story down completely.
He also made clear why the relationship matters to him beyond the headlines. “Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he said, adding that they can support each other in ways no one else can because only they understand the life they live. Holland said, “So, for me, I found my person,” and described Zendaya as his best friend, saying he has never felt so supported or safe. The pair met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, and Holland said she won over the production immediately when she “smashed her audition out the park,” prompting Amy Pascal to say she was getting the job.
For now, the most useful reading is also the simplest one: Holland has acknowledged the wedding talk, leaned into it, and still stopped short of saying the words outright. That leaves the exact date and details untouched, but it also keeps the rumor from living only as a rumor.
