The activated Jasson Domínguez from the 10-day injured list on June 13, 2026, bringing him back after more than a month out with a left shoulder injury. The move came the same day New York placed on the 10-day injured list, another hit to an outfield group already stretched thin.

For Domínguez, the return is a chance to rejoin a lineup that has been missing options on the corners. He was hurt when he crashed into the wall in left field during a home win over the Rangers on May 7, 2026, and he had spent over a month recovering from a low-grade AC sprain in his left shoulder.

The timing matters because the Yankees are already down two starting outfielders. is out with a stress fracture in his rib and will not return until at least August, while Grisham left Friday's loss to the Blue Jays after sliding into second base and straining his right hamstring. With those absences, Domínguez gives the Yankees another corner outfield option at a moment when they need one.

That help comes with a familiar question attached. Before the injury, Domínguez had only.200/.250/.367 with one home run in 32 plate appearances after beginning the season at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and getting called up in late April. He did play 123 games in 2025 and finished that season with a.257/.331/.388 line, 10 home runs and 23 stolen bases in 429 plate appearances, but his early 2026 production had not yet matched that track record.

The Yankees have not said how much Domínguez will play now that he is back, and that is the real issue beneath the roster move. His return restores a needed body to the outfield, but with Judge sidelined until at least August and Grisham joining him on the injured list, the club will have to decide whether Domínguez gets an everyday runway or a more cautious role as he comes back from the shoulder injury.

For now, the Yankees have their young outfielder back and another injury to work around. What they do with him next will tell the rest of the story.
