Amal Clooney arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, with a new look that took its cue from bell-bottom jeans. She stepped out for a Women’s Initiative Event wearing what her longtime hairstylist called a “bell-bottom haircut,” styled into a soft blowout with rounded volume at the ends.
The styling was built around contrast. At the top, Dimitris Giannetos kept Clooney’s hair straight and sleek, then added the fuller shape below, along with a retro side part. He said on Instagram that he wanted the result to be “timeless, chic” but also bold, and that the shape was meant to give her hair a “’70s flair.”
The haircut landed as part of a larger polished look. Clooney wore a tiered, geometric lilac dress from Prada with Cartier jewelry, and Giannetos said the hair was designed to work with the dress’s shape. He also created her makeup look using Opus Beauty. The overall effect was styled to feel both modern and thrown back to another era, which is exactly why the haircut is getting attention now.
Clooney was also still wearing the “Cartier panther” inspired highlights she debuted in April, tying the Bangkok appearance to a styling arc that has been unfolding for months. That makes the new cut less like a throwaway change and more like a deliberate update to her public image, even if it is not yet clear whether she plans to keep the style beyond this appearance. For now, Bangkok is where the look was unveiled, and the question is whether the bell-bottom shape will stay a one-night statement or become part of her summer rotation.
