’s search for ’s replacement has moved into a decisive phase, with emerging as the club’s primary option after reaching an agreement on a two-year deal worth between €3 million and €4 million a season, plus an option for another campaign. Glasner has also turned down an offer from and made Milan his priority.

That is why the name ibrahimovic is back at the center of the conversation in Milan. has already met the club in recent weeks, and he is being backed inside the project by advisor , even as the coaching search continues to widen around him.

Glasner’s position is strengthened by the fact that Milan have already sat down with him, Matthias Jaissle of Al Ahli and USMNT coach Mauricio Pochettino. Jaissle would not come cheap, either, with a €6 million release clause attached to his contract. Even so, the Austrian coach remains the leading name in the frame after choosing Milan over Feyenoord and waiting for the Italian club’s next move.

The catch is that nothing is finished yet. Milan have not made a final decision, and the club is still meeting candidates while pushes to be far more involved than he has been in previous coaching decisions. He plans more rounds of talks in the coming days before personally choosing the next coach, but his priority is to appoint a new technical director first. Ralf Rangnick remains the top target for that role, and the Austria coach has reportedly paused extension talks with his federation while Milan’s structure takes shape.

That leaves Cardinale holding the final say over a decision that will shape the club’s next phase. Glasner may already have the clearest path, but with Amorim still backed by Ibrahimovic and more talks still to come, Milan have not yet closed the door on any of the names in play.
