Clint Harp and his wife, Kelly, are launching a new podcast called Couch Pod, a project he announced Friday on Instagram with a short clip from a recent recording session. In the post, Harp said the show is built around what he and Kelly like to do best: talk on the couch, a lot.
The announcement gives Harp a fresh project to promote after a career that first took off with Chip and Joanna Gaines on HGTV’s Fixer Upper and later moved to Magnolia Network’s Restoration Road With Clint Harp. Fans responded quickly beneath the post with messages of excitement, treating the new series as a return to the easy, conversational style that helped make him a familiar face to home-renovation viewers.
Harp also used the post to make clear that Couch Pod is being built very much in-house. He joked that production, cameras, sound, editing and conversation would all come from him and Kelly, and he signed off with a line saying there is more to come. The setup suggests a low-fi, personal show rather than a polished studio production, with the Harps leaning into the kind of direct, family-made approach that social media audiences tend to reward.
The timing also stands out because Harp has already tried podcasting before. He previously hosted Man Unmade, a show described as centered on normalizing the authority and power of women’s voices in a man’s ear, and he interviewed Kristen Kish, Jen Hatmaker and Laverne Cox on that series. But Man Unmade has not released a new episode since June 2021, and Restoration Road has not aired a new episode since 2024, even though there has been no official report that the Magnolia Network show was canceled.
That gap leaves Couch Pod as the next clear step in Harp’s post-Fixer Upper career, following his January 2023 closure of Harp Design Co. in Waco, Texas, and his later pivot to real estate. What remains unanswered is the practical part that listeners will care about most: when the new podcast will start and what subjects Kelly and Clint plan to cover once they settle onto the couch for real.
