Jordan Brand has put a Milwaukee Bucks-inspired Air Jordan 12 Retro on deck for Sept. 19, bringing a long-awaited colorway into its heritage-driven “Idols Become Rivals” series. The sneaker, officially nicknamed “Idols Become Rivals,” is set to arrive with a $215 retail price and a style code of CT8013-103.
Interest is building now because the first look shows a shoe that leans hard into the Bucks palette without losing the Air Jordan 12’s familiar shape. The pair comes dressed in Summit White, Gorge Green, Black and Fierce Purple, with a predominantly white leather upper, a reptile-textured green mudguard and outsole, plus purple hits on the branding and the carbon fiber support shank.
The details are what give the release its pull. Iridescent accents land on the upper eyelets and the lateral Jumpman TPU badge, a small but visible touch that separates this version from a standard team-color makeover. For buyers watching the calendar, the shoe is expected to be sold through Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers when it lands later this month.
The Bucks theme is tied to Ray Allen, who once wore the colors in Milwaukee and was a former Jordan Brand signee. Jordan and Allen met 12 times on the floor, and Allen received several Air Jordan 12 player exclusives during his career. Even so, he never had his own Bucks-colored Air Jordan 12 until now, which is the part that gives this release its edge: it feels overdue rather than merely nostalgic.
That backstory also explains why the shoe matters beyond collectors chasing a clean retro. Back in October, news of the Milwaukee Bucks-inspired Air Jordan 12 surfaced, but Sept. 19 is the first firm date on the board. What remains less clear is how wide the release will be once it reaches Snkrs and the selected retailers, and that is the detail sneaker buyers will be watching next.
