Qantas has cut prices on 1.4 million domestic economy seats, opening a broad sale on Wednesday that offers one-way fares as low as $105 across Australia. The discounted travel window runs from July 22, 2026, to May 23, 2027, giving travelers a long runway to lock in trips for next year and beyond.
The cheapest fares are concentrated on a handful of routes. Sydney to Byron Bay is on sale for $105, while Melbourne to Adelaide, Melbourne to Hobart and Sydney to the Gold Coast are priced at $129. Some Sydney services to Qantas Link regional destinations, including Armidale, Tamworth, Coffs, Dubbo, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga and Albury, are available for $149.
Markus Svensson said the airline wanted to make it easier to plan ahead, and his message was aimed at travelers thinking about school holidays, Christmas or Easter before those dates arrive. He said booking early means one less thing to worry about, and the scale of the offer backs that up: 190 routes across almost 60 destinations are included, with one-way tickets on 33 routes available for less than $150 and 59 routes under $200.
That reach matters because the sale spans most of the domestic map, not just a few headline routes. It is designed for economy travelers, and it comes at a time when families and holidaymakers are often looking ahead months rather than weeks, especially with peak travel periods likely to fill fast.
The catch is that the advertised fares are not guaranteed to last until the official finish line. The sale is scheduled to run until 11.59pm on June 16, but only if seats remain, which means the lowest prices could disappear earlier if demand is strong. For travelers eyeing a cheap domestic trip, that makes the timing just as important as the fare.
