Ellie Goulding is readying her sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, for release on Sept. 4 through Polydor, and the rollout is already underway with a new single, Black Prada Dress, due Friday, June 5.
The announcement gives fans a clear date for Goulding’s first full-length album since 2023, when Higher Than Heaven arrived and became her latest U.K. chart-topping set. At 39, she is again lining up a full campaign around a project that sits squarely in the center of her pop catalog, and the timing is specific enough to make the news land now rather than later.
Black Prada Dress was first played during Goulding’s main stage set at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland on May 23, and it is also booked for a televised performance on Later… with Jools Holland on June 7 on Two. That kind of staggered launch suggests the album cycle is moving fast, even if the full list of songs has not been released yet.
That missing tracklist is the one piece still left out of the picture. Goulding has named the album and singled out the first track to arrive, but the songs that will fill I Know Too Much remain under wraps for now, leaving the next reveal as the one that will tell listeners how this record is put together.
The new release also resets attention on where Goulding stands in pop history. Higher Than Heaven debuted at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart and made her level with Adele for the most U.K. No. 1 albums by a British female solo artist, according to the Official Charts Company. Over her career, she has also landed Billboard Hot 100 entries with Love Me Like You Do, which peaked at No. 3, and Lights, which reached No. 2.
For now, the important answer is already on the calendar: Black Prada Dress arrives June 5, the Two performance follows on June 7, and I Know Too Much lands Sept. 4. What fans do not know yet is which other songs will join it.
