Netflix has added the fourth and final season of Resident Alien to its library today, giving viewers all ten episodes of the sci-fi comedy-drama in one place. Alan Tudyk returns as Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, the alien hiding in plain sight at the center of the series.
The release matters now because fans looking for Resident Alien are not getting a teaser or a partial drop. They are getting the full 10-episode run, newly available on Netflix after originally airing on Syfy and USA Network last year and wrapping last August 2025. The season also drew a perfect Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a sign that the show’s blend of oddball humor and invasion paranoia still landed with viewers.
Resident Alien was adapted and executive-produced by Chris Sheridan, with production from Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment. The series follows an alien who takes over a human doctor’s life while weighing whether humanity deserves to survive, and Season 4 pushes that premise harder than ever. Harry and his baby Bridget begin the season trapped on the Grey Moonbase, while a shape-shifting Mantid alien has taken Harry’s body on Earth.
That setup gives the season a sharper split than earlier chapters. Harry has to escape the Greys and race back to Earth for a showdown with the Mantid, while Asta, played by Sara Tomko, and D’arcy, played by Alice Wetterlund, struggle to keep a secret from Ben and Kate. Levi Fiehler’s Ben Hawthorne and Meredith Garretson’s Kate Hawthorne are desperate for answers about what has been happening to them, and Corey Reynolds’ Sheriff Mike Thompson, with Elizabeth Bowen as Deputy Liv Baker, keeps digging into a string of mysterious deaths in Patience.
The odd thing is that Netflix’s arrival turns a season billed as the last into a fresh streaming event. That leaves the show in a familiar place for a fan base that has already followed Harry through deadpan crises, but it also leaves one obvious question hanging over the release: whether Resident Alien is finished for good, or whether the door still opens to a Season 5. For now, Netflix has given the show one more run in the spotlight, and it comes with the final season intact.
