Sky Alemania has poured cold water on the transfer chatter around Sergiño Dest and Bayern Munich, saying there is nothing true in the speculation linking the PSV defender with the German champions. The report directly undercuts the rumor that had briefly pushed Dest into Bayern’s orbit.
That matters because the speculation was specific, not vague: recent reports had suggested Bayern was tracking both Ismael Saibari and Dest, and the Dest link spread quickly enough to invite questions about whether the club was preparing a move on the right side of defense. For readers following Bayern’s squad planning, this is the clearest answer so far — the club is not pursuing him.
Bayern’s own situation helps explain why the rumor does not hold up. Konrad Laimer is already an option on the right, and the club is working on extending his contract beyond 2027. Josip Stanišić is also available there, while Sacha Boey, who spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at Galatasaray, has not been sold.
That leaves little room for a Dest move to make immediate sense. Bayern is also close to signing Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, and he can fill in on the right if needed, which further reduces the need for another addition in that area. The picture that emerges is not of a club racing toward Dest, but of one already stocked with options and still shaping the same part of its squad in other ways.
The one unresolved question is whether the denial ends the story or simply redirects it. Bayern may be out of the race for Dest, but unless another club turns interest into a formal bid, the PSV defender’s next move remains open.
