Andy Cohen said Amanda Batula spent at least 15 minutes and possibly 20 or more offstage during the Summer House reunion taping on Tuesday, June 2, after the conversation around her relationship with West Wilson became too much to sit through. Cohen said Batula stayed backstage through an all-cast break before returning to finish part 2 of the reunion.
The timing matters because the pause came during one of the season’s most personal exchanges, and it was revealed the next day, on Wednesday, June 3, when Cohen discussed the taping on his Radio Andy podcast. He said the interruption was long enough to suggest more than a quick reset, which is unusual for a reunion built to keep the cast in the same room while they answer for what happened on camera.
Batula said she needed to touch up her makeup before going back, but the discussion onstage had already turned raw. She said she and Wilson had talked privately about what their relationship would look like, and that was part of why she felt ready to sit beside him at the reunion. Even so, she said she felt embarrassed that their connection had developed while he was still seeing Meija Moreno, and that she had to tell Ciara Miller she had feelings for Wilson and had kissed him while he was seeing someone else. Mia Calabrese told her, “I mean, yeah, it’s embarrassing.”
Batula also said the remarks landed hard enough that she had to step away, telling the cast, “I think I need to take a break for a second.” The exchange had already drawn pointed reactions from across the room: Lindsay Hubbard asked, “Why isn’t her boyfriend going after her?” and Miller told Wilson, “You should go after your girl.” Wilson, meanwhile, said, “I didn’t know if the questions were going to come back to me,” a line that captured how quickly the reunion had moved from one couple’s history to the bigger question of whether he could commit at all. Batula later said the comments “cut really deep” and that it was “really hard” to keep going.
The reunion’s friction is tied to a wider story that has followed Batula since her January split from Kyle Cooke, but this episode was about the relationship she was choosing in real time and the discomfort of defending it in public. Part 3 of the Summer House reunion airs on Bravo on Tuesday, June 9, at 8 p.m. ET, and it will answer whether the cast lets the issue settle or keeps pressing on the same fault line.
