cancelled ’s Revolut Stage set and ’s Occident Stage set at 9:30pm local time on June 4 as adverse weather forced the Barcelona festival to suspend performances on its main stages.

The cancellations came on the opening day at Parc del Fòrum, where big screens warned fans that performances had been temporarily suspended because of the weather, while areas of the site, including the Estrella Damm and Revolut stages, were closed amid heavy rain. The festival said it was monitoring the situation and would keep fans updated.

Weather reported a 90 per cent chance of heavy rain showers continuing until 2am local time, which explained why the festival moved so quickly to protect the site and the crowd. Primavera had opened in Barcelona on June 4 after a first day on June 3 that featured , and , and the 2024 edition was still set to continue for two more days with The Cure, The xx, Gorillaz, My Bloody Valentine, Addison Rae and Skrillex all on the bill.

The festival had not confirmed any rescheduling, and with rain continuing into the early hours, the practical answer was that its next move depended on how long the weather held the site hostage. For fans at the Parc del Fòrum, the night turned from a bill full of late sets into a waiting game.
