Jodie Ramsey was publicly shamed after Daniel Osbourne worked out she was the force behind the online abuse campaign that had been tearing his life apart for weeks. The confrontation landed first, then the fallout: Daniel ordered her out after accusing her of tormenting him, while Bertie later fled the flat when smoke billowed through it.
The storyline has been building around the name Truthteller, the account used to spread vile posts accusing Daniel of enabling Megan Walsh's abuse of their student Will Driscoll. For weeks, he has been the target of the campaign, and the latest twist came after he returned to work this week following a suspension for lashing out towards Hope Dobbs.
What turned suspicion into certainty was the trail of poisonous messages Daniel trawled through on his laptop. He realised Ramsey was behind the turmoil, then confronted her over the sleepless nights, anxiety and misery he believed she had caused. Ramsey insisted she had no connection to Truthteller2, the imitation account that appeared after the original profile, but the denial did nothing to stop Daniel from turning her out.
That denial mattered because Ramsey had created the original account in secret and, for a time, wanted to conceal it so she could keep living with Daniel. She later shut down Truthteller2 after seeing the damage it was doing, but the harm had already spilled into the street. A group of teenage lads ambushed Daniel and pelted him with ketchup bottles, leaving him humiliated before the latest home showdown even began.
The public exposure did not end with the argument in the flat. After drinking in the Rovers, Daniel publicly accused Ramsey of being the online troll, making the accusation in front of other people rather than keeping it private. The episode then shifted into chaos at home, where Bertie complained he was hungry while Daniel was heavily intoxicated, put food in the microwave covered in tinfoil and sent smoke billowing through the flat as Daniel stayed oblivious. Adam later turned off the fire alarm at the builder's yard flat and found Daniel in a drunken slumber.
The episode airs at 8.30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed from 7am on ITVX, bringing the account behind the abuse into the open at last. For viewers following the wider Weatherfield fallout, the public unmasking of Ramsey now becomes the point where the damage can no longer be hidden, even if the full truth of Truthteller remains the unresolved question.
