Amazon has set July 29 for special Spider-Man: Brand New Day screenings that U.S. Prime members will be able to buy before the movie’s wide theatrical release. The screenings will play in select theaters nationwide, giving members two days of early access ahead of the film’s wider rollout.
The announcement landed during Amazon’s Prime Day push, which runs from June 23 through June 26, and it is already drawing attention because the tickets are not on sale yet. Amazon has set up a dedicated page for the offer through its deal with Fandango, and Prime members logged into their Amazon accounts can click a Notify Me button to get an alert when sales open.
That timing matters because Amazon is using one of its biggest sales windows to tease a film event that is still incomplete for shoppers. The company has said the screenings are limited to select theaters nationwide, but it has not yet named which locations will host them or given a date for when tickets will actually go live.
For U.S. Prime members, the draw is simple: early access to one of the summer’s most closely watched titles, before the wider theatrical release begins two days later. Prime membership costs $15 a month or $139 a year, with a free 30-day trial for new signups, while Prime for Young Adults offers a 50 percent discount for people between 18 and 24 years old at $7.49 a month or $69 a year and includes a six-month trial.
Amazon has made Prime a much broader entertainment pitch than free shipping alone, bundling Prime Reading, Amazon Music and Prime Video into the membership. Prime Video now streams Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Noir series, adding another Spider-Man-related title to the company’s roster just as it prepares to sell early seats for Brand New Day. What remains unresolved is the simplest part of the offer: when the tickets will actually appear for sale and which theaters will get them first.
