Music picked up the soundtrack on June 2, 2026, while a new update widened the app’s reach to web browsers, iPad, CarPlay and Siri track search. also brings the soundtrack library further into the hands of members who already use the mobile service.

The new Mario Kart World release is not a small add-on. It includes 130 tracks and runs 4 hours and 13 minutes, giving the app another major soundtrack from Nintendo’s racing series. Nintendo also said the soundtrack is joining other Mario Kart soundtracks already available on , alongside other Switch 2 material such as and special release samples from titles including .

That broader rollout is the part that makes today’s update more than a single music drop. Nintendo Music started as a mobile app for Switch Online members, but the latest video shows it moving onto web browsers as well, while the app update extends support to tablet devices and car screens. For listeners, that means the service is no longer tied as tightly to a phone screen or a pair of headphones.

There is still one catch. The Mario Kart World soundtrack is live now, but Nintendo said Free Roam tracks are planned to be added through later updates. That leaves a gap in the release for anyone who expected the soundtrack collection to arrive complete on day one, and Nintendo has not said when those tracks will be folded in.

For now, Version 1.6.0 gives Nintendo Music a wider footprint and a bigger marquee release at the same time. The app now reaches browsers, iPads and car systems, and the soundtrack library gains one of Nintendo’s latest Mario Kart sets. The next question is simple: when the promised Free Roam tracks finally arrive, they will show whether this update was the start of a broader expansion or just the most visible step in it.
