Police have ended an operation at Horsley Park without incident after responding to reports of shots fired inside a home on Burley Road shortly before 2pm on Sunday 31 May 2026. A 47-year-old man was arrested at the property and is assisting police.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command set up a perimeter at the scene and were backed by PolAir, the Public Order and Riot Squad, the Dog Unit and the Tactical Operations Unit. By about 2.30pm, two vehicles were stopped near the property and seven people were spoken to.
The response drew multiple specialist units to a house in Sydney’s south-west, but the operation ended without incident. Police then established a crime scene and continued their inquiries.
What remains unanswered is what happened inside the home that triggered the callout. Police have not said whether anyone was injured, whether any shots were fired, or whether a weapon was found.
For now, the man at the centre of the response remains in police custody, and the investigation is still open.
