Guillermo Ochoa is not closing the door on acting. The 40-year-old goalkeeper said he could try it in the future, and the idea has already reached him through a few offers, even if nothing is concrete yet.
The timing is what gives the remark weight. Ochoa is appearing in a Pepsi campaign alongside David Beckham, Christian Pulisic and Vinícius Júnior, with the ads released online on May 27 and set to air again before the UEFA Champions League final on May 30. He said he was happy and grateful because Pepsi has long stayed close to sport and football, and the campaign has put him back in the spotlight just as fans keep tracking his next move.
For Ochoa, the appeal is not just about curiosity. He said his three children would be a motivation if he ever took on a role, and that they would like to see him in an action movie. That gives the thought a personal edge, even if it remains only an idea for now. The veteran of Mexican football is still active with AEL Limassol in the First Division of Cyprus, and his name continues to carry the kind of recognition that makes any off-field project a headline.
There is, however, a gap between interest and action. Ochoa said he has heard about possible opportunities through his brother-in-law, who works with producers and writers, but he also made clear that nothing official has happened. In other words, he is open to acting, but there is no real professional plan on the table. That leaves the question less about whether he likes the idea and more about whether anyone will finally put a script in front of him.
That uncertainty sits alongside a bigger sporting target. Ochoa said he is excited by the possibility of playing in his sixth World Cup in 2026, a pursuit that keeps him tied to the game even as his off-field profile grows. For a figure already framed as a legend of Mexican football, and one whose name could be mentioned with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the record books, the next chapter may still be written on the pitch. But the first serious hint of a life beyond it is now out in the open.
