Piers Morgan has promised to turn Arsenal's Champions League final into a full-blown spectacle of his own if the club wins in Budapest on Saturday. The television personality said he would arrive in a full Arsenal kit and copy a John Terry-style celebration if Mikel Arteta's team beat Paris Saint-Germain.
The promise landed because Morgan has been a visible, and often divisive, part of Arsenal's recent moments. He said he paid full price for four tickets two months ago, buying them at the start of March for what he thought could be a momentous day after supporting the club for 55 years. Arsenal have never won Europe's premier competition, while PSG are chasing back-to-back titles, so Saturday carries a weight the club has not felt in decades.
Morgan made the pledge while pushing back against criticism over his presence on the pitch at Selhurst Park after Arsenal's trophy lift. Some fans had taken issue with him celebrating alongside the players, especially given his past calls for Arteta's head. Morgan answered that criticism bluntly, saying he had the foresight to buy the tickets and would apologise for absolutely nothing.
He also gave Arteta his due. Morgan said the manager had proved him and plenty of others wrong, and that he could not be happier about it. He added that Declan Rice had put his winner's medal around his neck for a souvenir picture after the trophy lift, a moment Morgan said he did not pay for but was thrilled to receive.
That leaves one simple condition hanging over Budapest: if Arsenal beat PSG, Morgan says he will be back in a full kit, ready to channel Terry and make the celebration his own. If Arsenal fall short, the promise stays where it is, as part brag, part provocation, and part measure of how far the club has come under Arteta.
