Arsenal have put a price of up to £20million on Gabriel Jesus after multiple clubs asked about the 29-year-old forward this summer. The Gunners are open to a sale at the right price, but they are not prepared to let him go cheaply.
That valuation matters because Jesus has only 12 months left on his contract and is a proven Premier League scorer when fit, with 32 goals and 22 assists in 123 games for Arsenal. He also opened the scoring in the club’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on the final day, a reminder that he still has a role to play even as interest builds around him.
The timing is no accident. Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and has since been used across the front line, but injury has interrupted his progress. A knee ligament problem in January 2025 kept him out for a considerable period, and he has also started just three Premier League games this season, leaving him behind Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz in the striker pecking order.
Jesus’ own words cut against the idea of a clean exit. In December, he said he felt he had unfinished business at Arsenal and that he did not want to leave, while also saying he would one day love for things to come full circle with Palmeiras. He has also been asked why he would not simply move on, including suggestions of Saudi Arabia or a return to Brazil, but the forward’s preference has been to stay put.
That leaves Arsenal in a familiar position: willing to listen, but only on their terms. Clubs that enquired were quoted between £18million and £20million, and the fee reflects both his age and the fact that his deal runs to June 2027, when he would be available on a free transfer. With the summer market now open, the next move depends on whether one of those interested sides turns curiosity into a formal offer.
There is no mystery about Arsenal’s stance. They do not expect to sell Jesus cheaply, and the club’s asking price suggests they would rather wait for the right bid than accept a rushed exit. That approach keeps him in the squad for now, but it also puts a hard number on a player whose future has already become one of the market’s early tests. Related transfer chatter around Arsenal has also intensified elsewhere, with the club weighing options in attack as the window develops.
