Jake Hall has died at the age of 35 after an incident on holiday in Mallorca at the beginning of the month, with reports saying he was killed after smashing into a glass door and suffering a head injury.
The former reality television star had been out partying with friends before the incident, which ended with his death and left Chloe Lewis speaking publicly for the first time since the tragedy. Lewis, who previously dated Hall, shared a lengthy Instagram tribute weeks later alongside a clip filled with pictures and footage from their 10-year romance.
Lewis wrote that Hall was her “first love” and her “childhood sweetheart,” and said their relationship began when they met at 16. She joined TOWIE as Hall’s partner, and their romance became public through the show, but she said the pressures of life in the spotlight played a part in the way their relationship unfolded. They later separated after 10 years together.
In her post, Lewis said Hall gave her “a love that taught me so much about life and myself, and even more so now your presence is no longer here.” She added that she believed he knew what he wanted from life, describing it as “a happy home and a loving family,” and said being “the best dad” mattered most to him. Lewis also wrote, “We didn’t love wrong, we just didn’t know how to hold on to it.”
Her tribute came weeks after Hall’s death and included the line that “the last few weeks have felt very surreal,” adding that she still did not know how to process him being gone. Lewis said she last saw him on February 14 and told him to take care of himself. That detail gives her post its sharpest edge: the relationship was already over, but the loss still landed as something unfinished.
Hall’s death has now closed the final chapter on a relationship that ran from teenage years into adulthood and became known to the public through television. Lewis’s message does not change what happened in Mallorca, but it does show how deeply the loss still sits with her, and why the memory of Hall remains tied not just to fame, but to a life she says began when they were both 16.
