Police in Pigeon Forge said Tuesday that a 21-year-old man has been charged after a shooting at a cabin in the city left another man wounded. Public Information Officer Craig Cruise said officers responded to the cabin and found a man shot in the stomach.
The man charged is Aiden Long of Ringold, Georgia, who was charged with aggravated assault. The victim was identified as 31-year-old Bradley Vandergriff of Dalton, Georgia, and he was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.
Cruise said the cabin was within the city limits. Earlier coverage had reported that a man was shot in the stomach at a Pigeon Forge cabin development, but police did not specify the exact cabin location beyond that it was inside the city.
The charge marks the first public step in the case and gives investigators a named suspect as the victim continues treatment in Knoxville. Police have not released additional details about what led to the shooting.
