May 28 brought a fresh round of New York Times Connections clues, and puzzle #1082 was described as not too difficult if you are a skier. The game, which resets after midnight, challenged players with 16 words divided into four categories and allowed up to four mistakes before it ended.

The solution for included Fourth estate, with MEDIA, NEWS, PAPERS and PRESS grouped together, and Parts of a courtroom, with BAR, BENCH, PODIUM and STAND. Those answers were published on May 28, giving players a full set of hints and solutions before the daily reset brought a new puzzle the next day.

That daily turnover is part of why Connections has become one of the most popular New York Times word games. The Times credits associate puzzle editor with helping create the game and bring it to the Games section, where it is played on web browsers and mobile devices. Each puzzle’s categories are color-coded, with yellow as the easiest, followed by green, blue and purple.

The setup also shows the game’s push and pull: a puzzle can look manageable from one angle and still catch players on the wrong word group from another. In #1082, the court and newsroom categories were clear once the answers were known, but the format still leaves room for error, and the four-mistake limit means a run of bad guesses can end a session fast. With a new Connections waiting after midnight, the next challenge arrives whether or not the previous one was solved.

For players tracking , the practical answer is simple: #1082 is done, the next puzzle is already in place, and a fresh set of 16 words is now the only game that matters.
