said she had found her missing husband, , after weeks of uncertainty over where he was, telling followers he was alive and safe after he called her from a prison in Dubai on Wednesday morning, 27 May.

Price said the call, arranged by Andrews’s father, came from a call box in Al Awir prison. “I have found him – he is alive, and he is OK,” she said, adding that she told him how worried she had been and that she loved him.

The update ends a stretch of concern that began when Andrews vanished from view earlier this month. Price first raised the alarm publicly on Saturday, 16 May, in a YouTube video, saying she had told people on Instagram that he was “taking time out of socials” because of recent trolling, when the truth was that he had actually been missing for three days.

She said then that the last time she had heard from him was Wednesday night at 10pm, when he was trying to go through the border in Dubai to get on a flight to her. “We are wondering if he’s been kidnapped; he’s definitely a missing person now,” she said at the time.

Price, 43, and Andrews married in January after just days of meeting each other, a whirlwind start that made the news of his disappearance all the more stark. According to the report, Andrews had been missing since 13 May and had claimed he was detained on suspicion of espionage. It was believed he was arrested about two weeks ago and would be released on Monday, 1 June, after paying a four-figure fine.

Price said the authorities in Dubai thought Andrews was a spy, though she said she did not know much more than that after the call. The fact that the first clear word on his condition came from inside a prison, rather than from any formal public update, underlines how little had been known about his situation while she and his family were trying to trace him.

The next date to watch is 1 June, when Andrews is believed to be released if the account that has circulated proves accurate. For Price, the immediate question has already been answered: the man she feared had vanished has been found, and he is alive.
