Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner rushed their 20-year-old daughter Violet to the emergency room after she was seen limping into a medical center. Affleck walked with his arm protectively around Violet, while Garner stayed right by her side to help keep her balanced.
Violet left the ER on crutches with her foot immobilized in an orthopedic boot. The sight came after she was barely able to walk, a stark interruption for the eldest child of the former couple, who also share Fin and Samuel.
Garner and Affleck split in 2018, but they have remained closely connected when it comes to their children. The two have been seen together at Thanksgiving, children’s birthdays, Samuel’s basketball games and school events, a pattern that has continued even years after their separation.
Violet has also built a public identity of her own. After contracting a post-viral illness in 2019, she became an advocate for mask use and other public health protections. In July 2024, she addressed the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to push for mask access and stronger protections, underscoring how seriously she has taken that role.
The ER visit lands against that backdrop because Violet had only recently been seen in public on May 9, when she returned home for Mother’s Day in the United States and was photographed enjoying ice cream while walking with her mother and brother Samuel. Now the family’s focus is on recovery, and the next question is how quickly she can get back on her feet after leaving the hospital on crutches and in a boot.
