is bringing five international menu favourites to its Australian stores for the first time, with the limited-time range landing nationwide on Wednesday, May 27.

The launch is a direct answer to years of Australians asking why they could not get some of the items sold in other markets. McDonald’s Australia regularly rolls out new and limited flavours locally, but those offers are usually original creations rather than straight imports of overseas hits. This time, the chain is opening the door to a menu raid from Japan, Canada, the US and the UK.

said Menu Heist brings together some of the most loved menu items from around the world and gives Australians the chance to try them at home. She said each item was carefully selected from menus across Japan, Canada, the UK and the US, pointing to bold, distinctive flavours that have built cult followings globally. She also said the range celebrates big flavour, quality ingredients and the creativity fans love from Macca’s around the world.

The line-up includes the Teriyaki Chicken Burger, built around a 100% Aussie chicken breast fillet in sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce with shredded lettuce and mayonnaise in a soft bun. There are Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets, which are classic McNuggets seasoned with garlic and black pepper, plus the Benny-Style Bacon ‘N Egg Bagel, made with rasher bacon, egg, cheese and hollandaise sauce in a warm toasted bagel. That breakfast item will be available on the extended breakfast menu until 11:30 am.

The other two items are the Philly Cheese Stack, with two beef patties, grilled and crispy onions, three cheese slices, cheese sauce and pickles in a toasted bun, and Special Edition GOLD Sauce, a creamy blend of sweet, smoky, mustard and tomato designed for dipping fries, McNuggets and McWings. The five-item range will be sold at McDonald’s nationwide from May 27 through drive-thru, front counter, McDelivery and the MyMacca’s app, but only for a limited time.

The move reflects a long-running tension in Australia’s fast-food market. For years, customers have watched overseas menus online and wondered why items such as Korea’s Bulgogi Burger, India’s McAloo Tikki or Canada’s McLobster were not on local boards. Menu Heist does not promise a permanent global takeover of the Australian menu, but it does mark the first time the company has brought a curated set of overseas favourites here as a single nationwide release.

That makes May 27 the day Australian fans finally get a taste of the global menu they have been asking for, even if only briefly. Once the limited run ends, McDonald’s Australia will almost certainly return to what it has done for years: local inventions, not imports.
