Utah authorities issued an amber alert utah on Saturday for two young brothers they believe were taken from their Saratoga Springs home by their father, a man officials said had been seriously depressed, was selling possessions and was facing financial stress.

The alert names , 10 months old, and , 1, and says officials believe , 46, took them from the home. Wesley and Will are described as just over two feet tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Officials described the suspect as a white man with brown hair and green eyes. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 195 pounds, and is believed to be driving a newer model black Toyota Camry with Utah plate number A561HL. Authorities said the vehicle may have a temporary tag.

The case moved quickly because Utah AMBER Alerts are issued when law enforcement believes a child may have been abducted and is in imminent danger of serious harm or death. That standard is what put the Richman boys on the state’s most urgent missing-child bulletin, with investigators treating the possibility of immediate harm as the central concern.

The alert also points to a troubling gap between the family circumstances officials described and the children’s condition. Investigators said Dane Stephen Richman had abandoned his home, but they have not said where he or the boys may have gone. For now, the search depends on anyone who spots the black Camry, the Utah plate, or the children themselves coming forward quickly.

What happens next is plain enough: officers will keep looking for the car and for the two boys until they are found, and every minute matters while the alert remains active.
