Sporting Kansas City will host Red Bull New York at Sporting Park on Saturday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. CT, and the club is turning the match into a Star Wars Night event with pregame activations, a Grogu Bobblehead gate giveaway and exclusive Sporting KC x Star Wars gear for fans.
The action begins before kickoff on the Sporting Plaza, where Jedi and Sith will roam and stadium pyrotechnics and strobe lighting effects are part of the show. Supporter Stand ticket holders and Season Ticket Members are being urged to spend time in the Budweiser Brew House for prematch specials, while fans can also shop the SportingStyle store on the east side of the building at the top of section 131, which uses Amazon Just Walk Out technology.
The match-day guide matters because the stadium experience starts well before the first whistle, and getting there may take more planning than usual. All four ramps of the N. 110th Street exit off I-70 are closed because of construction of the new Buc-ee's near Sporting Park, and a portion of Village West Parkway near the I-70 and 110th Street exit is also closed. That means drivers heading to the stadium need to account for detours and slower access as they approach the venue.
Inside, Sporting KC is also pushing fans to prepare for a different entry process. Tickets are mobile-only and managed through SeatGeek Account Manager, and they will be scanned before fans go through security. Screenshots will not be accepted. The club says cash is no longer accepted for transactions in the building, and clear bags measuring 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches or smaller may be permitted after a thorough inspection, though all bags remain subject to search.
The practical message is simple: arrive early, bring a phone instead of a screenshot, and expect a stadium experience built around both a major opponent and a themed night.
