AMC Theatres is bringing live concerts into movie theaters this June, teaming up with Arena One to beam performances from Bebe Rexha, Paris Hilton, Kim Petras and Maren Morris to more than 300 screens across 89 U.S. markets.
The shows will be staged for cinematic viewing and broadcast live into AMC locations nationwide throughout the month, with audiences in theaters sending reactions back to the performers in real time. The companies say the idea is to let fans and artists interact during the show, turning the theater into part concert venue and part live feedback loop.
The first wave of acts gives the project a pop-heavy start, with Rexha, Hilton, Petras and Morris among the performers lined up for the June rollout. AMC is not alone in trying to turn cinemas into places for more than films. In recent years, theaters have tested concert films, sporting events, anime premieres and live Olympic coverage as operators look for ways to bring people back through the doors.
That search has already produced one clear proof point. Concert films tied to Taylor Swift and Beyoncé showed that audiences would pay for a shared music experience on the big screen, and the new AMC-Arena One plan is built on that same bet, only with the performance happening live instead of on a recorded reel. The question now is not whether fans will show up for music in movie theaters. It is whether they will keep coming back when the experience is designed to feel like both a concert and a conversation.
