But Austin FC II kept the pressure on, and in the 66th minute Stefan Dobrijevic supplied the cross that Ruszel tapped in for the third goal.

The result extended Austin FC II’s unbeaten run to 10 and left it at 7-1-3 with 25 points, a mark that shows how quickly the group has separated itself from the bottom of the table. Sporting Kansas City II, meanwhile, remains stuck on 10 points and will next face Real Monarchs in Herriman, Utah, on Friday night at 9 p.m. CT. For a side already searching for momentum, the margin for error is getting smaller by the week.
