Texas beat Baylor 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at McCombs Field, and the No. 3 Longhorns are headed to the NCAA Super Regional for the seventh consecutive year.

The win pushed Texas to 45-10 overall and 6-0 in the postseason, while stretching its winning streak to seven games. Teagan Kavan delivered the kind of outing that ends a regional fast, working a complete-game shutout on three hits with five strikeouts and no walks. After Baylor opened the bottom of the first with an infield single, Kavan retired the next 16 batters.

Katie Stewart supplied the early damage and then added to it. She hit two home runs, walked twice in four plate appearances and set a program record with 27 home runs this season. Texas scored twice on Stewart’s two-run shot in the first inning, then went ahead 3-0 when Kayden Henry drove in a run with an RBI single in the second.

Henry finished 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three RBI, and Texas widened the gap in the second when a Baylor fielding error let Viviana Martinez score from third for a 4-0 lead. In the sixth, Henry and Stewart went back-to-back with solo home runs, and Reese Atwood followed with her 18th home run of the season, a two-out shot that made it 7-0.

The result extended Texas’ run to 13 consecutive NCAA Regional victories and left the program 22-3 in NCAA Regional games under head coach Mike White. It also continued White’s own streak: 16 consecutive NCAA Super Regional appearances as a head coach, a mark that ties Patty Gasso for the longest in NCAA history.

Texas now turns to Arizona State, which will visit McCombs Field later this week for the Austin Super Regional. Baylor left Austin without a response to the pressure Texas applied from the first inning on, and the Longhorns arrived at the next round looking every bit like a team built for this time of year.
