Kate Hudson marked Ryder Robinson’s graduation from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a set of family photos that showed the event from every angle, from makeup prep to the moment outside Radio City Music Hall. In one picture, the seven-year-old Rani Rose wore a white top and a colorful cheetah print jacket while Danny Fujikawa held her in his arms as she posed for the camera.
Hudson said her daughter had helped get her ready for the celebration, touching up her lipstick before the family headed out. She also posted a shot of Rani with Ryder and Bingham outside Radio City Music Hall, underscoring how the day brought together the actor’s blended family around one milestone. Hudson captioned the post, “My college graduate!!!!!! @mr.ryderrobinson,” making the graduation the clear center of the tribute.
She shared more than one family moment. Another photo showed Ryder with his grandparents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, while Hudson also posted a picture of herself with Ryder’s father, Chris Robinson, and a separate snap with her second son, Bingham. The images traced not just a graduation day, but the family tree around it, with Ryder at the middle of the celebration.
The timing matters because Hudson had already been talking publicly this fall about how much her family life has changed as Rani has grown. In an October 2025 birthday tribute, she called her daughter “My little lady is seven today! My sweet sparklysassysilly sunshine girl! You are the light of my life,” and added, “I love you! Happy Birthday.” She has also described Rani to People as “the best” and “so magical,” saying, “She’s definitely her mother’s daughter,” and noting that the child can take a long time to get out of the house because she is particular about wardrobe, clothes and vibe.
That sits alongside a broader picture Hudson has painted over time: a patchwork household that has become more tightly knit, not less. She was married to Chris Robinson from 2000 to 2007 and welcomed Ryder with him. She married Matt Bellamy from 2010 to 2014 and welcomed Bingham with him. She began dating Fujikawa in 2016, welcomed Rani in 2018 and got engaged to him in 2021. Hudson has said, “We are very connected, and we are very close,” and has described the way love changes form in a modern family where there is “so much love for all the kids.”
The graduation photos do more than celebrate a degree. They show a family that has found a rhythm around major life events, with ex-husbands, grandparents, siblings and Hudson’s current partner all appearing in the same orbit. On a day that belonged to Ryder, the most revealing image may have been the one that wasn’t about the graduate at all: a small child in a cheetah print jacket, being held close while the family gathered around him.
