Crimson Desert got a fresh patch today ahead of the weekend, and patch 1.08.00 brings one of the game’s most requested quality-of-life changes: a dedicated tool equipment slot. Until now, tools could only be carried as secondary weapons, which made them awkward to use whenever wanted to keep a greatsword or spear ready instead.

The update goes well beyond that fix. It adds a Pond to both Greymanes camps, Howling Hill and Pailune, letting players drop caught fish into the new feature after finishing a certain quest. The more fish of the same species players add, the larger the number becomes. Patch 1.08.00 also introduces 20 new species of small animals, while baby wyverns can now be registered as pets and will grow into mounts in a future update.

For combat and movement, Kliff can now equip muskets and shotguns, while and receive a Focused Aerial Roll equivalent. Players can also ride a wyvern as a temporary mount after subduing it, giving the update an immediate payoff even before the baby wyverns mature. On the crafting side, the patch adds blueprints for superior branches made from special tree branches.

The visual changes are just as broad. Patch 1.08.00 adds raytraced sun and moon light shadows, which can be toggled on or off in the Graphics settings. It also improves GPU load in high-resolution environments above 4K resolution, alongside better object placement and fixes for visual glitches, including vegetation flickers.

The tool slot stands out because it answers a long-running complaint from players who wanted tools to be easier to use without giving up their preferred weapons. That makes this latest crimson desert update feel less like a routine content drop and more like another step in ’ effort to fold community requests into the game as it heads toward its next round of changes.
