Twenty One Pilots sold so many tickets in the artist presale for their biggest-ever headline show at Ohio Stadium that no presale tickets were left for the planned venue presale on May 21.
Some tickets were still available for the general public at 10 a.m. May 22, Dave Redelberger said, but he urged fans to watch social media because a few more seats can sometimes open up at the last minute as stage configurations are set. The duo will play Ohio Stadium with Death Cab for Cutie on Oct. 17.
The demand fits the scale of the moment. The show is the Columbus band’s biggest headline date yet, a milestone for a group that first formed in Columbus in 2009 and has grown from a local act into a stadium draw.
That success also brings a familiar problem. Redelberger warned fans to be careful about ticket scams and to buy only from an official source, saying heavily demanded shows tend to attract scammers. His warning matters because once the presale disappeared, fans who missed out had only a limited window left for legitimate tickets.
The question now is not whether the stadium show has momentum. It does. The real issue is how many more fans can get in before Oct. 17, and whether any last-minute releases appear once the stage is finalized.
