opens at London’s ExCel Centre on Friday with one of its anime draws already changed: will not attend the three-day event because of health reasons.

Chan-Kent, who voiced Misa Amane in , Christine Sierra in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and multiple roles including Amy Rose in the US ONA Sonic Prime, was among the names linked to the weekend’s programme before backing out. The convention runs through Sunday, May 24.

The schedule still keeps its Death Note focus. , and are still listed to appear, bringing the voices of Light, L and Ryuk to the event as it marks the anime’s twentieth year. A is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday on the Main Stage.

That leaves the weekend with a changed guest list but the same centrepiece. Chan-Kent’s withdrawal is the only confirmed absence in a group that still includes three of the best-known English-language voices from the series, and the Sunday panel remains the main meeting point for fans heading to ExCel over the final day of the show.

For attendees, the practical takeaway is simple: the convention begins Friday, May 22, and the Death Note panel is still on the books for 1 p.m. Sunday. The bigger question is whether the remaining cast appearance will be the weekend’s main attraction, and the answer is already leaning yes.
