Stratton, the current WWE Women’s United States Champion, said the story had gone too far and added that she hoped Vinci was doing well after his recent move to TNA Wrestling.

“You guys. That may be the craziest one I’ve ever heard. That did not happen, that is not true,” Stratton said. She followed that by saying there was “no truth to that” and added that she had heard Vinci had just signed with TNA, calling the accusation “a false accusation” and wishing him luck in his next run.

The rumor had been circulating for a few years, tied to the idea that Vinci allegedly flirted with Stratton and that the episode helped explain his absence from WWE TV and eventual termination. Stratton’s denial matters because it shuts down a piece of locker-room gossip that had lingered long after the people involved had moved on. Vinci recently appeared on TNA Wrestling as Fabian Aichner, while Kaiser is now working as El Grande Americano in AAA and on Monday Night RAW.

Stratton and Kaiser quietly broke up last year after his own run as El Grande Americano began in Mexico. The pair had been one of the more popular couples on the WWE roster, but both have since moved on. Kaiser is now dating AAA host and model Andrea Bazarte, while Stratton is with WWE NXT wrestler and former Olympian judoka Shady Elnahas.
