Two firefighters suffered minor injuries Tuesday evening when a truck overturned in Sunland while crews were responding to a structure fire. The accident was reported at about 6:45 p.m. at 10500 N. Mcvine Ave., just south of Foothill Boulevard.

The fire engine landed on a sidewalk, the department said, and aerial footage showed it on its side near an H&R Block building. The overturned truck was partially on top of a crushed car. The two injured firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment, and no other injuries were reported.

It was not immediately clear whether the H&R Block building sustained significant damage. The cause of the crash also was not disclosed, and the department said it is not releasing the names of the firefighters until their families have been notified.

For now, the key facts are straightforward: the crash disrupted a response to a structure fire, left two firefighters hospitalized with minor injuries, and raised immediate questions about damage at the scene that officials have not yet answered.
