Gabbie Gonzalez was arrested Monday, May 18, in Northern California on a felony conspiracy to commit a crime charge and later transferred to a jail in Los Angeles County, where she was booked. The 24-year-old lifestyle influencer is being held without bail.
Gonzalez has nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram alone, where she built a public profile around lifestyle posts and personal updates. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has not shared any details yet about the alleged crime, leaving the reason for the arrest unclear for now.
That silence matters because Gonzalez is not an obscure name. She drew wider attention after beginning to date Why Don’t We’s Jack Avery in 2018, and the pair welcomed a daughter, Lavender, in 2019 before later splitting and continuing to co-parent. She then announced her engagement to Cody Clayburn in 2022, married him before reportedly divorcing in 2024, and has since remained a visible online figure.
Gonzalez has also used her platform to speak candidly about motherhood and criticism online. In one post, she wrote, “In honor of mothers day and announcing my daughter to the world 5 years ago when she was two weeks old!?.. teen pregnancy aint for the weak hearted. #happymothersday” and, in another, “no amount of bullying could make me stop free bleeding btw that’s the misogyny seeping through your pours #fckthepatriarcy.” Those posts helped cement the blunt, personal voice that made her easy to follow and easy to notice.
For now, the biggest unanswered piece is the charge itself. Gonzalez is in custody, booked in Los Angeles County and held without bail, but prosecutors have not explained what the alleged conspiracy involved or whether more details will emerge soon from the district attorney’s office.
