Emmerdale is set for a run of trouble from Monday 25 May to Friday 29 May, with Cain Dingle spending one night in a cell after he is arrested for urinating in public and for drunk and disorderly conduct. The fallout lands fast, and Moira Dingle does not hold back when he struggles to explain what happened.
Cain’s behaviour turns reckless after he has had his catheter removed, and that lapse now drives him straight into police trouble. The arrest comes during a week when the village is already dealing with another fire at Emmerdale Farm, and the scale of the chaos is about to deepen.
Next week, Aaron Dingle texts Kammy Hadiq about the latest blaze, while Robert Sugden joins him in searching for the Emmerdale Farm arsonist. Their focus soon turns to Kammy, who has been an enigma for more than a year and is quietly hiding the burden of secret homelessness. Belle Dingle, who has already welcomed him into the Dingle family fold, wants to know more about him and asks if she can meet his family. Kammy sharply shuts down the idea, keeping his private life locked away even as suspicion begins to close in.
The pressure rises after Matty tips off Aaron and Robert about someone acting shifty in their field. They rush off and find Kammy holding a petrol can and a lighter, leaving little room for doubt about what he may have been planning. Kammy admits he was going to torch Robert’s car, and when Robert becomes infuriated, Aaron steps in to stop the confrontation from boiling over. The distraction gives Kammy the opening he needs to run.
That leaves the week ending on a harder note than it begins. Cain is headed for a cell, Kammy is now squarely in the frame over the fire, and Belle is left facing the possibility that the man she has taken into the family has been carrying a secret far bigger than anyone realised. Ross Barton could also be about to enter a messy love triangle, adding another layer of strain to a village already stretched thin.
For Cain, the week ties back to a separate health storyline that has already seen him undergo a radical prostatectomy after a cancer diagnosis, a reminder that Emmerdale’s biggest shocks this time are built on problems that have been simmering for weeks rather than seconds.
